A couple of things about this large (for me) piece.
I was trying not to "think" too much while I was working on it. Thinking always leads to tightness which then results in something contrived. Not good and not what I'm after. Someone once told me, "Park your brain when you're painting." It's a great concept and hard to do.
So here is my gestural painting. Lively brush strokes with energy behind them.
The second thing I would like to mention is, it's not pretty. Wow. How did I manage that? Well, I didn't use pink and coral and yellow. I surprised myself by trying out some new colour combinations. Always good to challenge oneself. I like the result.
My Latest Find
I was very excited to find this limited edition etching the other day. It's the 3rd print of only 4 and it is signed by Bill Cuff 1978. I googled him up when I got home and didn't find much. That being said, I did find the photo below of a group of prominent Canadian artists, including Bill Cuff. Anyone know of him?
